How Wiso works
Our research, coverage and commercial plans, explained.
What you can do today
Wiso Savings is an energy information and supplier directory for households in Great Britain. Read our guides, explore selected published prices and visit suppliers directly. We do not provide personalised quotes, arrange switches or supply energy. Broadband and mobile directories are not available yet.
How we select and present suppliers
Our directory currently includes six suppliers for which we reviewed public information. It is a selected directory, not a whole-market comparison or a recommendation. Inclusion and display order do not mean a supplier is cheapest, best or a commercial partner. Supplier logos identify the businesses concerned; they do not imply endorsement.
How prices are researched
We use supplier publications and link to the source on each listing. Figures can represent a supplier average, a regional range or a national price-cap benchmark: the label tells you which. When a current national supplier price cannot be verified, we direct you to a quote instead. We do not fill missing prices with another supplier’s rates.
How annual illustrations work
Where usable average rates are available, annual illustrations use 2,500 kWh electricity, 9,500 kWh gas and 365 days of standing charges. Each fuel’s unit rate is multiplied by its usage, then its standing charges are added. Pence are converted to pounds. Monthly illustrations divide the annual result by 12; they are not Direct Debit quotes. Variable rates are held constant for the calculation, not guaranteed for the year. Actual costs depend on location, meter, payment method and consumption.
Dates and corrections
Prices are manually researched snapshots, not a live feed. Each listing shows its review date and assumptions. Supplier offers can change before we update this site, so always check the supplier’s current quote and terms. To report a price or content error, email [email protected] with the page, supplier and source. Do not send your bill or account details.
How we earn money
The current Energy directory uses direct supplier links without Wiso affiliate referral codes. We do not earn affiliate commission from those links. We plan to apply to affiliate programmes. If approved, qualifying referrals may earn us commission; we will identify affiliate links and update this disclosure before using them. Approval and commercial relationships are not assumed.
Our community plans
We are developing a programme to share part of future qualifying referral commission with participating organisations. This is not an active donation or cashback offer. The organisations, eligibility rules, amounts and payment arrangements have not yet been finalised. Any programme will depend on the relevant advertiser’s permission and published terms.
